Can anyone comment on what game has more value, Puerto Rico or Agricola? In terms of replayablity, parts, etc. The latter costs around $20 more, so I'm wondering if it's because it's better in quality of parts or something.

This is a great review. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I found the instructions to be very poorly constructed. By far, it makes this complex game easy to understand the FIRST time through the instructions.

There is no way a game with so many cards is balanced though right?. It kinda comes down to luck knowing which cards are better then others or if you have a set that works well together.

I've been reading and re-reading the instructions today and was so confused about what happens when, and how things accumulate, and when to play cards. Probably didn't help that I was trying to play a solo 'family game' version to simplify things, but it just made the instructions even more incomprehensible.
You saved me a headache, and possible regret over spending money on a game I couldn't understand!
